- Who are Reef Knot Productions?Reef Knot Productions was founded by Emma Boland and Dominic Callaghan, who together bring more than 20 years of experience across television, branded content and digital storytelling.
With backgrounds in documentary production and broadcast television, we believe the best films come from understanding people and finding the stories that audiences connect with.
We’ve filmed in challenging environments, worked with a wide range of contributors and adapted to the constantly changing world of production and technology. But while equipment and platforms evolve, our focus remains the same, creating thoughtful, visually engaging films that feel honest and human. - Why choose Reef Knot Productions? At Reef Knot Productions, we know great filmmaking is about far more than cameras and equipment. Technical skill matters, but getting the best from people on screen is what truly makes a film connect.
With backgrounds in television and broadcast production, we approach every project with an editorial mindset, always thinking about the story, how to shape it and how to communicate it clearly and naturally. That becomes especially important when the subject matter is complex, sensitive or unfamiliar.
Most people aren’t comfortable being filmed. Whether we’re working with CEOs, frontline staff or high profile contributors, being on camera can feel intimidating.
Our role is to put people at ease, ask the right questions and help them communicate with confidence and clarity. That takes experience and empathy, which is something we bring to every production. - Where are Reef Knot Productions?Reef Knot Productions is based just outside Truro in Cornwall, surrounded by dramatic coastline, open landscapes and a strong sense of community, all of which influence the way we approach storytelling.
Although we’re based in Cornwall, our experience spans productions across the UK, with backgrounds in television, branded content and documentary storytelling. Today, we work primarily across the South West, creating films that bring people closer to brands, organisations and ideas. Whether we’re producing a documentary style brand film or social media content, our focus is always the same: to create visually engaging work with stories and people at its heart.

FAQ's
We can provide a full range of video production services, including micro-documentaries, company culture videos, charity video production, promotional content, product showcases, educational and training videos plus more. We can handle everything from concept development to final editing.
A micro-documentary is a way of telling the story of a brand that gets to the heart of a company via honest storytelling. Examples of micro-documentaries could be a film about how a brand came about, or it could focus on a customer’s story or the work a brand does within the community. At the centre of all these films are genuine people sharing real life experiences. This type of film tends to create deeper connections with audiences, which in turn can encourage customer loyalty.
The cost of a video varies depending on the scope of the project, including filming days, locations, crew requirements and the level of post-production involved.
Smaller projects such as simple event coverage or social media content may require a more modest budget, while documentary-style brand films and larger productions typically start from around £3000.
Because every project is different, we always prefer to have an initial conversation before providing a tailored quote. That way, we can understand what you need and recommend the best approach for your budget and goals.
Yes. Aside from the finished film we also offer shorter edits and teaser clips for your social media platforms. Additionally, we can shoot extra content for you on location that you can use on social media, such as behind the scenes clips.
